Statement of Job:

The University of Southern Maine is seeking applicants for an Administrative Specialist CL1 in our Parking Services department.

The Administrative Specialist will support the Portland Campus' parking garage by performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties. Work involves considerable internal and external contacts as well as handling verbal and written communications for a broad range of questions. Ability to work as part of a team is essential, as are providing exemplary customer service, maintaining confidentiality, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and to prioritize, and ability to work in a diverse environment with many interruptions. Judgment and initiative are frequently exercised, and work is typically performed under specific instruction.

For this Administrative Specialist position the starting rate of pay will be $16.84/hour for a new hire or the appropriate transfer rate for a current employee with the University of Maine System. This position is full-time, working 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday - Friday and is located on our Portland Campus.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
  • One-year administrative support or comparable experience.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (ex. MS Office, web).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
