Statement of Job:

The University of Maine at Augusta is seeking applicants for a full-time Admissions Counselor. The Admissions Counselor supports the overall UMA Enrollment Plan by assisting prospective students from the inquiry stage through the application process and actual enrollment/registration at any UMA location. This position will emphasize recruiting adult learners.

This position is a 12-month grant-funded position. There is potential for this position to turn into an ongoing, university-funded position after the initial 12 months.

Salary: The hiring salary range for this position is in the low 40s and is commensurate with training, education, and experience and will take into consideration the salary of current UMS employees for transfer/promotion.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to travel on behalf of the University.
  • Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Familiarity with the University of Maine System structure, policies, and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses/Certifications: N/A

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • One or more years of experience in recruitment and/or admissions.
  • One or more years of experience with event/project planning.
