Statement of Purpose

Under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or delegate, assists by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the nursing station.

The Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse while providing care to patients in varying states of health and illness during their time in the Med/Surg Department. The LNA functions as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team and should be fully versed in all areas of the Med/Surg Department operations. The LNA must have the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and as well as exhibit willingness and the ability to communicate department standards and expectations.

Job Requirements

1. High school diploma.
2. Medical terminology required
3. Computer knowledge and skills including Word, Excel and other applications as needed.
4. Able to work with physicians and hospital staff in a professional and courteous manner.
5. Clear communication style.
6. BLS Certification.
7. Certification and license.
