Manager, Marketing, Plans & Communications AEC

This position could be located anywhere in the US, either in one of our locations or remotely from home. Our preference is that this individual be located in the Central, Eastern time or Moutain Time zone.

This critical role in our Customers and Marketing organization is responsible for enhancing the AEC brand style, recognition and respect; improving our customers experience, capture and retention; market analysis and reporting; and helping to keep our employees informed and excited about our sales and marketing activities. The individual will be working in close coordination with the SVP, Global Customer and Marketing, to develop the "look and feel" of the company on the web, in written communication with customers, customer presentations, trade show participation, facility visits / tours, and promotional items and events. They will also be responsible for managing and developing a market analyst.

Marketing and Branding:

- Develop a multi-channel marketing and brand development strategy which generates greatly enhanced brand recognition and customer interest

- Develop an AEC brand style guide to ensure consistency across the company in coordination with the larger Albany International Corp. guidelines and approvals

- Develop AEC marketing policies and communicate those policies and provide feedback / corrective actions when polices are not followed

- Maintain editorial control on all marketing collateral released on behalf of AEC Albany

- Create and editorial calendar and manage release dates for recurring publications

- Manage external partners for marketing collateral creation

- Write marketing messages and copy for all online and offline AEC campaigns

- Coordinate all media contact and ensure AEC consistently gets print and digital coverage

- In coordination with product management and development, produce high-quality product brochures

- Create and manage AEC's official photo library in a user-friendly way for use across the spectrum of company needs (including but not limited to) marketing campaigns, trade shows, web pages, customer presentations, site lobbies (customer entries), stakeholder presentations

- Create and manage the AEC official data base of customer and product successes for use in presentations, customer lobbies, and as inputs to HR for employee communications

- Develop internal and external sources of information and collaboration for the photo library and historical data base

- Select and manage all promotional items for customer visits, trade shows, and brand enhancement within an approved budget with inventory controls

Customer Experience:

- Work across AEC to greatly improve our customers contact experience with AEC when they visit the website, call the company, visit / work at one of our locations, take a facility tour, attend a trade show, etc. The goal is to help make AEC the preferred company to do business with through ease of customer connectivity, professional communication, and positive visit experiences.

- Manage the development of digital content and the acquisition of supporting products for all trade shows

- Produce study guides and show guidelines for all tradeshows and tradeshow participants, ensuring the AEC team is always the best prepared and full of energy

Market / Competitive Analysis and Planning:

- Be responsible for applicable data collection, market / competitive news, and customer build rate updates, analysis and reporting

- Hire, train, and manage a market analyst


- Produce the official "AEC General Customer Presentation" to be used for new customers

- Provide customer-contact individuals (sales, contracts, program management, engineering) a "toolkit" of Word, PowerPoint, and e-mail templates for their communication requirements

- Produce the Customers and Marketing organization's Monthly Report and associated Staff Meeting presentation

- Communicate with our internal business leaders about marketing initiatives and project metrics, as well as to brainstorm fresh strategies

- Provide communication (Sales) training as required to customer-contact personnel

- Develop a measuring system (KPIs) for determining the success and corrective actions for each marketing program or initiative

Supervisory responsibility: Yes

Supervisors are responsible for overseeing their work group including but not limited to: formal evaluations/performance management as set out by the organization, recruitment and developing

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or related field (MBA preferred)

- 5+ years' experience in marketing or communications

- 2+ years' experience in a management role

- 2+ years' experience in a highly engineered products manufacturing company highly desired

- 2+ years' experience in an aerospace or automotive company preferred


- Familiarity with online content marketing and development strategies

- Proficiency with HubSpot marketing suite and SalesFUSION360 software desired (but can be acquired if other CRM experience)

- Proficient in Google Analytics desired (but can be acquired with an otherwise strong candidate

- Demonstrated experience in creating a wide range of successful marketing materials and content that generates measurable ROI


- Exceptional organization and decision-making skills and the ability to meet deadlines

- Ability to initiate and monitor several simultaneous projects

- Talented storyteller and persuasive copywriter

- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral communications is a must

Working Conditions

Indoor production environment, duties performed indoors, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations required, Travel may be required

Physical requirements

Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs.

Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainings

Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time

Frequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc.
