The Community Relations & Development Office at Memorial Hospital is responsible for marketing and fundraising for the programs and services of the hospital and doing outreach in the community.
The intern in this position will support the activities of the Community Relations and Development team, including:
Help plan and implement grand opening event for new Adult Day Center opening in July 2019. This will involve coordinating with community stakeholder groups, legislative contacts and donors to ensure a successful launch.
Coordinate efforts for annual golf tournament which raises funds for population health initiatives. This includes sponsorship activity, event planning, social media, photography, PR, and marketing efforts.
The position will also help with administrative support for the team including:
Coordinating accounts payable.
Recording donations received, creating deposits for donations and generating thank you letters.
Assisting with tracking of department materials such as contracts, expense logs, and other communications.
Assisting with scheduling appointments.
This individual must possess excellent organizational skills and demonstrate a strong attention to detail and follow-through, along with strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and database programs. Photography and design skills are preferred. Experience in Blackbaud or other fundraising software program is a big plus.

The MaineHealth Internship Program will run from June 3rd - August 9th 2019, but the intern in this position should be able to start in mid-May.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Student who is currently enrolled in a four-year degree program in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree preferred.
Strong analytical thinking.
Must work independently, take initiative to complete assigned projects with minimal direction, and be able to prioritize tasks within an assigned project.
Ability to maintain confidentiality in the performance of duties.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and other technologies as needed.
