Provides training and oversight to Customer Service Specialist I staff in the absence of the Billing Supervisor. Provide patient service excellence on multi-line telephone system and walk in inquiries for patient's accounts. Provide patients with resolution to phone inquiries as well as follow-up on medical billing denials and/or payments. Implement strategies and favorable practices for monitoring patient accounts monthly for collections process.;

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years medical billing experience
  • Excellent communication analytical and computer skills including
  • Excel Microsoft Office and prior experience with electronic billing and practice management software

Major Responsibilities:
  • Independently identify; inform; and help resolve issues related to self-pay and FA A/R. Evaluate account balances to determine patient liability.
  • Create and generate reports in practice management system. Provide monthly reporting to Billing Supervisor.
  • Maintain CBO Handbook and keep CBO policies up to date.
  • Review work log daily to ensure timely resolution of outstanding A/R.
  • Follow-up on incorrectly denied and outstanding patient balances; in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and utilize practice management system. Appropriately document all transactions on patient accounts. Maintain a high level of accuracy at all times in job functions.
  • Responsible for addressing patient issues and concerns (phone; mail; and walk-in) in a timely manner; while projecting a professional and caring image. Return patient phone calls and office staff calls/inquiries within the same business day. Accurately review accounts for collection agency submittal.
  • Act as a liaison between patients; departments; and insurance companies to ensure account resolution. Communicate effectively with Director of Revenue; CBO supervisors; co-workers; and offices.
  • Provide backup for Billing Supervisor when needed. Provide training and oversight in Billing Supervisor's absence. Return patient phone calls and office staff calls/inquiries within the same business day.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy at all times in job functions.
  • Act as a liasion between patients; departments; and insurance companies to ensure account resolution.
  • Communicate effectively with Director of Revenue; CBO supervisors; co-workers; and offices.
