AVP Assistant Corporate Controller

Incumbent ensures integrity of company’s accounting systems and reporting through the leadership of accounting staff and functions under a decentralized model that provides shared accounting and finance services to the holding company and its subsidiaries. Responsible for providing accurate and timely financial and regulatory reporting to senior management in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations. Provides strategic and tactical input and support to the CFO and Controller in planning, scheduling and the implementation of various accounting initiatives. Serves as a backup to the Controller for all accounting functions. Excellent analytical and communication skills; written and verbal. Excellent financial math skills and a general knowledge of accounting principles; Solid computer skills (Excel, banking and accounting software experience preferred); Possess strong work ethic with high degree of cognitive ability to grasp broad concepts and apply them to new issues that arise and resolve them without the need of a supervisor.
1. Independent ability to meet financial analysis, reporting, and assignment deadlines in effective and efficient manner.
2. Demonstrates a strong understanding of specialized accounting topics relevant to the company’s financial reporting process and data interrelations.
3. Ability to leverage knowledge and understanding of finance reporting systems to create and prepare reports and develop new information and analysis functionality.
4. Ability to work collaboratively within the Finance team and more broadly across functional areas to achieve results and continuously improve business and financial processes.
4-7 Yrs. progressively responsible experience working in accounting field (banking or public accounting preferred). Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience. Certified Public Accountant preferred.
