Plymouth State University's Hartman Union and Residential Life departments seek a Web Communications Designer.  This is a 30-hour a week, non-benefited position.  There may be additional hours available depending upon funding availability.  This position does not allow telecommuting.  Candidate must be able to work here on the beautiful Plymouth campus.

Location Notes:This position is located on the lovely Plymouth State Campus, within the departments of Residential Life & the Hartman Union Building.
Job Requirements
The position is responsible for maintaining existing departmental pages and developing new sites by optimizing architecture, content, and search parameters while ensuring optimal usability and accessibility for multiple audiences.
  • Solid knowledge XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, as well as development tools such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks and Flash.
  • Ability to develop and test web content constructed with W3C compliant code and cross platform and cross browser compatibility.
  • Experience with database technologies, query design, and reporting is preferred.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to be flexible and remain focused between two departments' specific job duties requirements.
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts, Computer Science, Communications or related field and two years of professional experience in a web production environment
  • Associate's degree and four years of professional experience in a web production environment
  • or combination of related education and related professional experience in a web production environment equal to six years.

Benefits
This is a 30-hour a week position which must be worked on site.  It is currently a non-benefited position and does have opportunity for additional hours, based on skill set & experience of the chosen candidate.
